Eine biographische Skizze als Beitrag zu Juliana Hellmundts Mail Art Projekt "That's my milieu". Die Werke dieses Projekts wurden zum ersten Mal ausgestellt  vom 16.11. bis 10.12.2019 in den Kunstetagen Pankow. Weitere Ausstellungen sind geplant.

Girls are being persecuted as witches if their brothers or fathers don't have any luck finding gold in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - traditional healers and evangelical pastors taking part in the chase. A small sign of hope for this huge, fought-over country: Lucha, a group of peaceful young activists fighting for democracy and human rights. And the 2018 Nobel Price for Peace going to the gynecologist Denis Mukwege, who built a hospital for victims of mass rape - though it is sad enough that such a hospital is necessary...

Der Friedensnobelpreis ging dieses Jahr an den 63jährigen kongolesichen Gynäkologen Denis Mukwege, der Verletzungen von Frauen nach Gruppenvergewaltigungen behandelt. Ein Hoffnungszeichen, wenn es auch traurig genug ist, dass solch eine Klinik notwendig ist!
Und noch ein Hoffnungsschimmer: "Lucha", eine Gruppe junger friedlicher Aktivisten im Kongo, die hoffen, dass aus ihrem gefährlichen Kampf für Demokratie und Menschenrechte eine Bürgerbewegung wird - mehr Informationen

Die Inschrift fand ich an der Hofwand des ehemaligen Frauengefängnisses Berlin-Lichterfelde. Dieser "Teller" war der erste der "Tischgedecke". Alle Arten von Assoziationen (und Fragen?) beim Betrachter sind erwünscht....

"No speaking" - I found these words in an old script (often misused in Germany's dark past) on the courtyard walls of the former women's prison in Berlin-Lichterfelde. Go ahead and associate freely or keep asking yourself what I mean with this "dish" - the first of the series.

Tausende Unschuldige in überfüllten Gefängnissen, kein Ende der Unterdrückung in Sicht in diesem schönen Land...
